A lot goes into creating your company name. It will influence many things that come after- like perhaps your marketing look, your web site design, etc.

Then, if you are planning to have a web site, check www.register.com to see if your company name, or any variation of it is available for you as a domain name.

 

Then, consider what type of business you are running. If it is a local business that will advertise in the Yellow Pages, you might want to consider starting the name of your business with a number or the letter A, so that it will come first in the phone book listings.

 

You can make the name something that represents you or your personality, but don’t make it too obscure. Just because you are very familiar with an idea doesn’t mean everyone else is. It may just be confusing to them.

 

You can also make your company name reflect what type of business you are in, for example XYZ Accounting Services, or ABC Lawn Care. That way people don’t have to guess what you do.
