But don’t worry – you can plan a great romantic getaway even on a limited budget. Time constraints are also important considerations. You have to consider how much time you have to plan compared to how much time it will take to bring a particular plan together, and whether you can both arrange the time away from work and home.

After you know how much money you have to spend, start figuring out where you can go. The trip may be greatly limited but you can plan a romantic getaway right in your own home. Consider this possibility – you ask a neighbor to watch the kids for a couple of nights over the weekend or hire a sitter who’ll keep the kids at her home. Prepare a great dinner or pick up a pizza, depending on your mate’s preferences. Rent movies that you’ve both been dying to see, take the phone off the hook, and spend an evening indulging yourselves. Sleep in late Saturday, take a day trip somewhere you both enjoy and wrap up this weekend getaway with a repeat of movies, moonlight strolls or whatever catches your attention.

As you can see, it’s not necessarily the destination that’s important, though exotic beach hotels and other popular resort spots make great romantic getaways. The most important thing is that you pay attention to the little details and lavish your time and attention on your partner.
