How do I salvage a bad date?

Sometimes in the dating game, you are going to find some bad ones. But they don’t have to be miserable experiences.

Tutorial

Unfortunately, sometimes you know before a date is even over that it is not going to lead to romance. If that is the only thing that is wrong, it is usually not too hard to get through the rest of the evening. However, if it is all in all a really bad date, getting all the way through it can be a real feat.

No one wants to be rejected on a date. And very few want to do the rejecting. Though it is necessary to make it known where you stand in the potential relationship, you don’t want to hurt feelings if you don’t have to. And one definite way to hurt some feelings and ruin a night is to call it quits in the middle of a date. However, there are ways to enjoy yourself and make a night of it, even if it isn’t the best date you’ve ever been on.

If you know that you don’t want to see this person again, and you aren’t getting along with them at all, relax. You don’t need to see eye to eye with a person whom you aren’t going to see again, so take whatever is said in stride. If you can relax you will have a better time.

If your date is just bad because of what you are doing, voice your opinions. More than likely, the person making the plans will understand. Once you are doing something that you can get into you’ll have a better time.

If your date is driving you crazy with something that they keep on doing, tell them. If they know it is bothering you, they may try to stop. Don’t hark, though. This will only cause hard feelings.

Even if your date isn’t going to turn into anything special, it is an opportunity to make a new friend and have a little fun.
