You have probably read recent news articles, seen banner ads, or received an email from a friend about getting a free iPod, iPod mini, or iPod shuffle. Is it true? Can you really get a free iPod?

Well, yes and know. Nothing is free in the world, as we all know. However, this is a real offer - as long as you work with real companies and not fall for a scam.

Get Free Stuff

Unfortunately, free isn't really free. When you read about the terms and conditions, it is not necessarily an easy process to follow to get a free iPod - but it is certainly not an impossible process and it can be accomplished (and has been by a lot of people). The trick is in how it all works.

Gratis Internet has relationships with big advertisers and gets paid when you fulfill one of the requirements. The requirements are that you must signup with one of the advertisers for a service on the site. For example, Blockbuster is one of their advertisers - if you signup for their DVD by mail service, you have fulfilled the offer. Another advertiser is Discover Card - if you sign up for a Discover card, you fulfill the requirement. Like Blockbuster and Discover, some of the advertisers are companies you would be doing business with anyways, why not signup through this service and have a chance to get a free iPod? There is a minimum requirement for each item - for example, with Blockbuster, you have to signup for the $9.99 trial and stay on for a month - converts to $14.99 after the first month, so basically a $25 outlay. 

The trick is then getting your friends and associates to signup. Depending on the free item you want (they have a wide range of items - iPods, cameras, Mac Minis, monitors, etc), there is a minimum requirement of people who must signup using your referral code and fulfill the minimum of signing up for one service. For an iPod shuffle, it's you and three additional people, for a Mac Mini, it's 10 additional people. The terms and conditions on each of the site tells you how many people you need to signup and signup for one service.

The Pyramid Grows

This is basically a pyramid where you signup, get a couple of other people to signup, who in turn get a couple of people to signup and so on. Eventually, it will become difficult to get people to signup, but at this point, I don't think the site is saturated yet.

1. The first step is to click on a link above to open the site in a new window.

2. Enter in your email address and a password.

3. Enter in your shipping address.

4. You can click "no" on all the "survey questions" and click no on all of the offers on these next few screens. These offers are not the offers you need to complete, so you can skip them.

5. You will come to a screen which has this at the top:

6. This is the screen which has the offers you need to complete. Click on one of the buttons and complete the associated action. A popup window will explain the requirement and how long you must remain a member to fulfill your requirement. Check out several of the offers as some are better than others.

7. Send your referral code out to friends and family encouraging them to signup.

8. Click on the "Account" link at the top to verify your email address with the site.

Now, you must wait for your friends and family to signup and fulfill the requirements of the offer. Once all of the requirements are met, you will notice the status of your account changing and your iPod will be shipped to you! Thats it!
