How do I change the Windows taskbar

Learn how to change properties of the Windows 98 taskbar.

Tutorial

The Windows 98 taskbar allows you to select running applications, choose items in the system tray, or select items from the toolbars. You can change settings by right-clicking on the task bar. You can add additional toolbars by selecting the Toolbars menu. If you click on Properties, you can change certain properties of the task bar.

Always on top specifies that the taskbar will always be on top of running applications. You can always see the taskbar.

Auto hide is a property which will make the task bar automatically hide whenever your mouse cursor is not hovering over it. Move your mouse over it and the taskbar will show again.

Small icons in Start menu will decrease the size of the icons on the Start menu.

Show clock does exactly what it says, it shows the clock in the bottom right hand corner.

The Start Menu Programs tab allows you control the items listed in the Start menu. The Clear button will clear any of your recently viewed or opened documents from the Documents menu on the Start menu.

You can also click and drag the task bar to any side of the screen if you prefer it somewhere other than the bottom.
